The LiMAR Flo & Tension Disconnect provides a contingency means of releasing and recovering a stuck BHA back to surface without the need for deploying a drop ball. It is primarily used in fishing BHA’s, positioned directly below impact hammers, jars etc...
In conjunction with a pre-determined overpull, the Flo & Tension Disconnect can be released by increasing the pump / flow rate to activate an internal piston to shear out a number of shear screws. The upper section of the assembly will pull free from the lower section leaving a clean internal fish neck profile for subsequent retrieval.
TOOL APPLICATIONS:
- Contingent release point used primarily in fishing BHA’s
- Suitable for use during stiff wireline operations where a drop ball cannot be used
- Ideally suited for use where drop ball deployment is impeded by deviation
